After working in sales together throughout high school, John Washenko and Skyler Witman joined forces a little over ten years ago to launch their own mortgage company, Accelerated Equity. Although the company became one of Utah’s fastest growing companies by its third year in business, a common theme in mortgage lending began to trouble John and Skyler. After refinancing mortgages for people on several occasions, they realized that setting someone up with a mortgage wasn’t helping them succeed or achieve their financial goals. This trend went against their goal of helping homeowners to get in a better situation. These entrepreneurs decided that there had to be a better way to help people get out of their financial pits.

This better way took years of tireless research, testing and investing in their personal beliefs to create a better solution. They did find a better way which resulted in the Money Merge Account® system. After a one year test market with 400 families in Denver, Colorado in 2005-2006, United First Financial® was founded. John and Skyler teamed up with Jonathon E. Bonnette & Matt Lovelady as co-founders and Don Jorgenson as Chief Marketing Officer.
